There is something about traveling that makes life worth living. Have you ever met someone who says, "I don't like to travel"? What is wrong with these people? How do they not appreciate the alertness of being out of your element, the mystique of having no clue of what is around the next corner, the thought that wherever you go, whatever you do in this place, it will all be brand new. New people, new restaurants, new sidewalks. Next time you are in a new place that seems boring, take a minute to notice the small things; the attitude of people walking the streets, the tone of voice of the person working the cash register uses, or the general layout of the land and infrastructure. These things all add up to make every place on earth unique, and despite how boring a small town might seem (and probably is) chances are that if you look hard, you will find something there that exists nowhere else in the world. And if you can do this in every single place you visit in your life, you will truly have an appreciation for the uniqueness and individuality of every city, state, race, culture and country on Earth. You might make a friend or two while you are at it. This photo was taken in the spring of 2009 somewhere in the desert outside of Phoenix, Arizona.
